About KW Collection

My name is Nikki and KW Collection is my creative outlet after what can sometimes feel like long days as a small business owner. I’ve always loved creating in general and always been a creator at heart.  I love the bold colors available in glass and really enjoy creating new things almost every day.

When I am not making fused glass art you can find me at home with my daughter and husband or at my other business, which is a custom furniture manufacturing company in Chicago. You can also find me flying; my husband and I are both pilots and we love flying around whenever we can.

If there’s ever anything I can custom make for you, please ask!

The Fused Glass Process

Making fused glass art is a test of trust and patience.  Each piece I make is fused at high temperatures in a kiln multiple times with each firing lasting at least 15 hours.  Some projects are in the kiln for days due to their size or thickness.

Every piece I make is unique.  I make my own canes and murrini using a vitrigraph kiln in my garage.  Other pieces are fused in one of the other kilns I have in my home studio.

Once a piece is made, my husband Rob is often involved in making the bases and stands you see.  He’s also the unofficial photographer of everything you see on this site.
